Dignity Action Day – 1 February 2018

On the 1st of February Priscilla Wakefield House celebrated, once again, Dignity Action Day with strawberry & cream scones, tea, coffee and poetry.

We challenged the unit staff to engage with residents and families to write a Dignity themed poem, for a competition.

The poems were displayed anonymously at the reception for a few days and all staff and visitors were welcome to read and vote.

During the afternoon tea, at the café area, we invited our residents to read for the audience the poems. The winner was Nickleby unit.

It was fantastic to see staff, residents and families involved in this challenge.

Also we held a remembrance moment at midday as the Dignity of someone remains forever. We gathered staff and residents outside the main entrance to release some balloons into the sky with the initials of the names of those who shared their lives with us at Priscilla Wakefield House and have passed away.
