Priscilla Wakefield House is separated into five, self contained individual communities to provide a small scale, homely environment. Each community offers comfortable spacious lounges, quiet lounges and dining rooms that are well furnished, providing a meeting place for residents to relax and entertain guests. Each lounge has access to satellite TV and flat screen televisions.Residents at Priscilla Wakefield House benefit from ample outside space in the form of landscaped gardens, covered activities areas and large balconies.
As well as a comfortable meeting place, our bright, modern reception area provides visitors with a range of information – from the day’s menu, to forthcoming events and daily activities. Fresh flowers and photos of staff and residents contribute to the attractive, welcoming environment.
At Priscilla Wakefield House, you can be assured of a warm welcome. Our friendly reception staff ensure that there is always someone on hand to meet, greet and assist visitors, relatives and residents alike.
Each of the 112 rooms at Priscilla is modern, spacious and light. Individually decorated to a good standard and we allow for personalisation of the rooms according to residents wishes. The rooms offer a comfortable standard of living and you can feel the warmth when entering the bedrooms.
We know that surroundings can have a significant impact on quality of life, so all residents are encouraged to personalise their space and make it their own, just as they would in their own home. Ground floor bedrooms also have access to a private garden area, which residents can chose to tend as much or as little as they wish. We also have activities which involves a resident gardening club facilitated by the activities team.
Each unit has its own dining spaces with an individual kitchenette area. Residents are encouraged to have their meals with others in the dining spaces and relatives are encouraged to dine with their relative if they choose to. The living and dining spaces are used for various activities on a weekly basis as determined by the residents with the support of the activities teams and staff.
There are personalised landscaped areas that are frequently used by the residents and which are maintained by our volunteers including relatives of residents and staff.
Lots of activities happen in these spaces especially during the summer where we hosts many garden parties. We are in the process of creating a sensory garden for use by all residents especially residents with Dementia who would be encouraged to maintain raised beds and plant their own sensory stimulated plants.
Our 2nd floor level provides 2 large terraces which are open spaces where all our residents can enjoy an outdoor space without having to leave their homely environment. We are currently working towards a green house area and a small petting farm to utilise these spaces better.
We have a hairdressing salon which caters to all residents needs and there is an in-house hairdresser who works twice a week to style all residents hair. We are currently recruiting a beautician who would visit the salon weekly for manicures, pedicures, facials and massages. We also offer a reiki session where residents can ensure peaceful environment with aromatherapy and head massages.
