Nickleby unit is designed to offer an exceptional level of dedicated personal care to individuals aged 65 or over As well as offering long term care, the Nickleby unit is also able to offer respite care on a short term basis to enable carers to take a much deserved break.
As a smaller unit, residents and their families can really get to know the Carers who look after them and every resident has a tailored care plan to ensure they receive the individual attention and support required.
Our fully qualified nurses are thoroughly trained in all aspects of elderly care. Our insistence on rigorous training and on-going supervision ensures that the highest standards are constantly maintained.
We aim to provide the best care, support and advice by working in partnership with our residents and their families to develop a plan of care which meets the needs of each individual. We work closely with other health care professionals including a local visiting GP, District Nurses, local pharmacy and other specialists to address each individual’s needs. We also work with the Haringey quality improvement team and integration team in meeting the needs of the individuals in our care.
We have a structured induction plan for all new starters and a training audit which includes support and training facilities for staff to complete their statutory and mandatory requirements. We also ensure that staff are given supervision on an individual one to one basis to maintain good standards of care.
Priscilla Wakefield House radiates a warm, caring atmosphere that invites all. Our friendly and personal approach ensures that all our residents are able to feel safe, cared for and part of a community where genuine friendships can develop.
We operate a flexible approach in our services to referrals; we provide rapid response and will normally arrange a professional assessment within a few days of your call. We can accommodate short notice admissions but aim to ensure residents’ safety in the process.
